I'm Asma Nawaz, a Ph.D. student in Health Artificial Intelligence with both a master's and bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, with an emphasis on medical devices and diagnostic engineering.
My academic interests focus on applying artificial intelligence to healthcare, particularly in cardiovascular care. I'm especially interested in precision medicine, drug repurposing, and developing novel AI-driven approaches to diagnosis and treatment that can improve patient outcomes.
Outside of research, I value balance and curiosity. I enjoy fitness, playing pickleball, gaming, baking, traveling, and exploring new restaurants and cafes around Los Angeles (proud LA native!). I am also a longtime guinea pig owner- my two babies Hershey and Chewy are both five and a half years old.
This site serves as a place to share my work, interests, and academic services.
